Balearia Caribbean transported 112,000 passengers on its routes between Fort Lauderdale (Florida, USA) and the ports of Bimini and Freeport -Grand Bahama- in the Bahamas islands during the year 2022. If we compare this figure with that obtained during the year 2021 we obtain a 50% increase in the total number of passengers transported. Despite this excellent result, the Fort Lauderdale-based shipping company has not yet recovered the occupancy levels of its 2019 ferry. The passenger occupancy forecast for this year 2023 is to reach 125,000 passengers on its 2 routes ( to Bimini and Freeport Grand Bahama). .

The volume of goods transported has remained at the same level as in 2021, where some 20,000 units have been transported. During the year 2022, the Jaume II ferry from Balearia Caribbean made a total of 450 crossings with a total distance traveled of around 27,000 miles.

This year, during the low season, there have been 4 weekly connections between Florida and Bahamas. These connections become 6 weekly during the summer months. In the Bahamas low season, the Balearia Caribbean ferry leaves from Port Everglades to the island of Bimini (colloquially known as Bimini ferry or Bimini express ferry) in 3 connections and 2 a week to the port of Freeport, in Grand Bahama Island. In high season, summer, and depending on the demand of passengers who want to travel by ferry to Bimini and Freeport, the number of departures increases to at least 1 per day, to a destination in the Bahamas, operating the entire week.

Spring Break 2023. Balearia Caribbean is positioning itself as a leading ferry transportation company in the United States. During the Spring Break 2023 campaign, Balearia Caribbean has transported a total of 10,000 students to the Bahamas in a period of 20 days, from March 11 to April 1.

The vast majority of these students have stayed at the Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach All-Inclusive hotel, on the island of Grand Bahama. At your disposal, this hotel offers a wide variety of services and activities that include access to the stunning waters and beaches of the Bahamas, water sports and a vibrant nightlife.

During the year 2022 the 11th anniversary was celebrated of the establishment of Balearia Caribbean (Balearia ferry) as a ferry company between Fort Lauderdale (Florida) and Freeport (Grand Bahama). Since 2019 Balearia Caribbean connects Fort Lauderdale with the island of Bimini.

Balearia, the parent company of Balearia Caribbean, whose headquarters are in Denia (Spain) operates international routes in France, Algeria and Morocco. Its international expansion plans include its expansion to other countries in the Caribbean region, wanting to connect Cuba with Florida, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. Balearia Caribbean rookie 2022 The Balearia ferry company, which in the United States operates under the Balearia Caribbean brand, has awarded I Love Ferry the "Balearia Caribbean Rookie 2022" award during the celebration of the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) in Madrid on January 18th, 2023.

This award is a recognition of the work that I Love Ferry has done during the year 2022 to sell the Balearia Caribbean routes that connect the ports of Fort Lauderdale (in Florida, US) with the ports of Bimini and Freeport, Grand Bahama in the Bahamas.

The award was given to us by the Commercial Director of Balearia in Denia. In addition to us, Balearia also awarded other Travel Agencies and Online Travel Agencies in recognition of their labor and work.

Balearia celebrates its 25th anniversary this year 2023 and has prepared various events where they will commemorate this anniversary.
